Eastbound I-64 Lanes In Downtown St. Louis Closed This Weekend
December 14, 2011
All lanes on eastbound Interstate 64 from Jefferson to 6th Street in downtown St. Louis will close this weekend, weather permitting.
The closures will occur from 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16 until 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18 for bridge work, according to the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT). Motorists are urged to use Jefferson to Interstate 44 as a detour to get downtown.
The eastbound ramps at Pine Street, Forest Park and Ewing will close at 7 p.m. Friday until 8 p.m. Sunday.
Access to 14th Street from eastbound I-64 will remain open for downtown events at the Scottrade Center and Peabody Opera House on Saturday from 1 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
On westbound I-64, the Broadway or the 10th Street entrance ramps will also close from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday. Either ramp closure depends on if the left or right lane on westbound I-64 is closed. Both ramps will not be closed at the same time.
