University City is hosting a free electronics recycling event On Saturday, Nov. 5, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., to help ensure unwanted items are disposed of responsibly, with no harm to the planet.

The event will be held at the Heman Park Community Center, 975 Pennsylvania Ave. and is open to everyone in the St. Louis area.

All consumer electronics will be accepted, including televisions, computers, home office equipment and large appliances. However, items containing mercury or Freon (e.g., refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, etc.), broken glass, biohazards, hazardous waste, liquids, fluorescent bulbs or smoke detectors will not be accepted.
