Why I love My School – Lauren Sitner, 5th Grade, Holy Cross Academy at St. Dominic Savio
January 19, 2018
My name is Lauren Sitner and I am in fifth grade at Holy Cross Academy (HCA) at the St. Dominic Savio campus. One reason I love HCA is because of the nice teachers we have.
One of my favorite teachers is Mrs. Simpson. She is really helpful if I am stuck on something in class. She can be funny, cool, loud and really caring. If you have a question, don't be afraid to ask her. She will help you. She is the No. 1 teacher.
Mrs. Simpson is my favorite teacher, but she doesn't teach my favorite subject. Science is my favorite subject. Science is my favorite subject because you can do fun experiments. One time in science class we were working on mixtures and solutions, and we watched our teacher, Mrs. Loescher, make a trail mix to show what a mixture was. We ended up eating that for our snack.
I love study hall in fifth grade. Whenever my teacher is conferencing with other students, she puts a to-do list on the board, so we don't have homework. She doesn't just put homework on the board, but other assignments that are due later in the week like Scholastic News. This helps me spend more time with my family after school.
Also I have amazing friends at HCA. My friends care for me and help me when I am having a bad day. We all take care of each other. We play together at recess, I also enjoy working on projects, and completing group work with them in class.
Finally, there are also a lot of out-of-school activities that I love to do. I play volleyball and I really like it. I like playing volleyball because you can work as a team to get to 25 points, and win the game. My whole team is good at working together, so we win every game. I also play soccer and basketball.
I love HCA a lot.
