A new sculpture has been installed in Shaw Park near the Tree Top Playground. Standing over 16 feet tall and weighing more than 17,000 pounds, the bronze sculpture, "One of Us on a Tricycle," by artist Steven Gregory, depicts a stylized elephant astride a playful tricycle.

Gregory was born in South Africa in 1952, but has lived in London since the 1960s. The piece comes to Clayton courtesy of the Gateway Foundation, which supports efforts to acquire, create or improve public art in the St. Louis area. The foundation as purchased and installed more than 30 sculptures, including another of Gregory's works, "Fish on a Bicycle," in Lewis Park in University City.
