University City Public Library Selected For Research Project

October 09, 2013
The University City Public Library, 6701 Delmar Blvd., has been chosen as the partner library for MOREnet's three-year Library Research Project.

This project will allow the University City Public library to explore the future of library services and to provide the community with the technologies that will support these services.

The library will, with MOREnet's help, develop a technology MakerSpace with a variety of equipment and software for use by all library patrons. It will include facilities, equipment and software for audio and video recording and editing, and equipment and software for 3D modeling, printing and fabrication.

The University City Public Library will work with its community partners to provide learning opportunities related to this new equipment and software. In addition, the library will develop a digital repository for work generated by members of the community (including digital images, documents, audio files and videos) that will help preserve and explore the collective past and document present lives, while imagining and designing a shared future.
