Two weeks ago it was announced that Missouri had fallen by the wayside in the Race to the Top — the Obama administration’s dramatically named education initiative. So this seems like an appropriate time to take a look at the administration’s policies.

Saturday’s mail brought me an invitation to a lawsuit. It was a class action, in which Hollywood screenwriters were suing television producers and networks for age discrimination. I haven’t so much as set foot in Los Angeles in 30 years.

 Could St. Louis adopt some new London traditions? Please?

I’ve been a fan of the Sherlock Holmes stories since I was 12, and recently friends have been asking how I’m bearing up in the final days before the new movie Sherlock Holmes is unleashed to stomp through the nation’s multiplexes.
